{May 14, 2008}   Happy Birthday, Lillian!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LILLIAN!!!!!

In the memory, you always were a cool, fun, and humorous teacher. But after ten more days, we are going to graduate. And the English class today is the last English class in our high school life, feeling a little bit sad because there won’t be like that that we everybody take English lesson TOGETHER in THIS class room. You really are a good English teacher. I remembered that when I was the first year in school, my English score wasn’t very well. But after you taught us, I found my English is getting better and better.

Thank you! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Every time when I’m in the laboratory doing experiment, a lot of memory will come to my mind, especially the scene of some alumni.

About two weeks before the contest of National Taiwan Science Fair, the four alumni trained me to do my presentation after class every day. All of them were college students and have a great passion in experiment. Besides their academic work, if they have leisure time, they’ll go back to Li Shan and instruct us in our project. In the beginning, I dare not speak in front of people, but after they encouraged me and gave me a heap of good suggestions, now I’m not afraid of presentation anymore. To my surprise, even if they were very busy, the four alumni helped me search some information actively during their break time. At the night before the contest, they encouraged me by saying “You will do well.”, or “Do your best.”

I was so thankful to the four alumni. If they didn’t appear in my life, I wouldn’t be here and do well at that time. I think I should be as enthusiastic as they to help the other students from now on. When others need help, I’ll give a helping hand to them. Then, at the time they graduate form school, they’ll help the other students. This “helping tie” will be continued.

Wu-Zhi Mountain, where I live, is my beloved neighborhood. There are not only full of creatures but great views.

Every morning, while I’m having breakfast, some birds are standing on the balcony and singing loudly. That is the reason why I never use the alarm clock because the birds’ singing can wake me up every morning.

At noon, if it is in summer, I always have lunch with Mr. Wind, a smooth breeze. Besides, there is a symphony composed by cicadas. As soon as I hear the nature symphony, a feeling came to my heart–I’m the happiest person in the world.

At night, the sound in the forest is like a lullaby, lulling me to sleep. After a busy day, I can relax and indulge myself in this peaceful melody.

All the above is the feature in Wu-Zhi Mountain. That’s also why I love Wu-Zhi Mountain so much. I think Wu-Zhi Mountain will be my paradise forever.

The picture was taken in front of the parliament of New Zealand. (There is a NZ flag on the flagstaff.) The guy in the photo was the tour guide, Mr. Cheng.
It was the third day of our tour. We walked to the parliament in the morning of New Zealand from where we stayed. Also we visited the parliament inside, too. Both of the interpreters and I had a picnic on the lawn in front of the building. (Mr. Ching, the Physics teacher, was next to us, too.) Suddenly, Mr. Cheng stood in front of me, looking on the sky leisurely. Maybe he enjoyed the weather in New Zealand there. Coincidently, there were a lot of gulls eating bread. As the result, I took this picture combining him with gulls.

The picture was taken in Martin Island when I was in New Zealand last December. You obviously can see a sea gull and a sheep. I don’t know what they were doing but one thing—they were lost in their day dreams.

{January 8, 2008}   In the English class last week

In the English class last week, some funny things happened to John, who is one of my classmates.

John is an average student in school. Sometimes he can respond in a second when he concentrates in the math class. We all admire his witty and smart brain. But things are not always going well. John has an awful habit that he always falls asleep in class. Accordingly, he didn’t usually do well on his test. Besides, there used to be some students waking him up. But he always fell asleep; now, no one wants to wake him up.

Last week, the boring English lesson led John to sleep again while the other students were attentive in the lesson. He slept so soundly that he began to dream. The student behind him found that there was a broad smile on John’s face. Meanwhile, he fantasized all the students in class fell asleep, too, when the English teacher was teaching grammar after 20 years!

Unfortunately, teacher found that John was sleeping. To make him awake, the English teacher shouted. John was shocked but still in his day dream. He fantasized all the student were frightened by the teacher and woke John up. Then the whole class burst into laughing.

{December 31, 2007}   Henry and Kim

Yesterday was Henry’s birthday! He got a pet dog as his birthday present. His face was full of smile. He though that he could spend his free time with his dog. He named his dog after Kim.

The next day, he walked in the park with Kim. But after he went to the restroom, he found Kim was gone! Then, he started to search Kim all over the park but in vain. “Maybe my dog was stole by someone!” he though. He was very sad and unhappy and going to weep.

Amazingly, when he went back home, Kim was standing by the door! Henry’s mind became bright from black. He finally found his dog!

Now they are together all the time and have a happy life. And Henry will cherish Kim forever.

{December 4, 2007}   Ginny abandon the cats

“Oh! My God!”, Ginny cried. she looked unhappily at the living room because of the mess made by her pet cats. The lamp was overturned and the sofa has been scratched. One of the cats was playing with the toilet paper. What was worse, there were some cats footprints and a fish bone on the floor.

Ginny was mad and considered whether she should drive away all the cats or not. then, she went to discuss with her mother. finally, they decided to deep only one cat.

In order to drive away the other cats, Ginny pretended to take all the cats to go out. Actually, she wanted to drive out them except one of them. When she went home, there was only a cat in her arm.

Now, Ginny played with the cat everyday. and their life must be more peaceful.

{October 30, 2007}   Grandpa

The person in the white-black photo is very young. There is only a smile on his face. My grandpa was wearing a solder uniform in the picture, which was taken in 1963.

Originally, he was supposed to live in Mainland China. Because the Kuomintang lost the war, he came to Taiwan along with the military. As a result, he was separated form his family. So he decided to start a family which belongs to him.

My grandpa married my grandma and have three children. One of them is my father. At that time, they did not have enough money for entertainment though they did not starve.

A few years later, my grandpa retired form the military. Unfortunately, an car accident happened to him which he got badly injured. Form then on, he couldn’t walk easily, let a lone, stand and sit. I sometimes helped him, too.

I still remembered when my grandpa was still healthy, he loved to cook eggs for me. The eggs tasted smooth, delicious, and great. but after the bad injury, he couldn’t cook any more.

On July 2nd, 2006, my aunt who was taking care of my grandpa, told us a break news– he had passed away. All the members of my family rushed into the hospital. that was the last time I saw my grandpa.

I never cook any eggs for my grandpa when he was still alive. But I would always remember the smells of the eggs that my grandpa did.

{October 1, 2007}   The Moon Festival

The Moon Festival is coming! I can’t wait because my whole family will hold an “annual B.B.Q.” Every year we buy plentiful foods, such as vegetables, beef, pork, and so on. And my grandparents will also come to my house.

Last year, my family and I went to my grandparents home. My cousins would also come to join us. When all adults were busy in cooking dinner, it was the happiest time for kids, playing and shouting. I played cards with the oldest cousin while my mother was baking the cake.

When dinner was ready, there were all the cheerful sounds of children because we were too hungry to do other things. The B.B.Q. vegetables had a special smell and the pork had a bit smell of carbon. However, we had a great time in Moon Festival.

I love B.B.Q. so that I always look forward to the Moon Festival. Finally, I hope that we’ll have an unforgetable time in the holiday this year.
